Relais San Vigilio

Amazing hotel and great service. Too bad we only stayed there just 1 night. Great breakfast, specious rooms. The only downside wad that their elevator didn't work, but the staff was helpful and carried our luggage directly to our room The hotel is located in San Vitiligo, 100 meters away from the funicular that takes you right to the old town Highly recommend. We will come back for sure!

Do not hesitate to book. We just left (rented a car and drove here after a few days in Menaggio) and cannot say enough about how special everyone was here. Wonderful owner who is around each day, kind and beautiful staff at the front desk & restaurant, elevated chefs, gorgeous mountainous room views (we were in room 5). Two minutes from the funicular and walking paths that go to the center of Bergamo. Made to order breakfast included, electric charging in the parking lot available, and 24/7 front desk (they helped us with MANY things - went above and beyond). Worth a visit for lunch or dinner if you are not able to reserve a room. This is a hidden gem of a place that will only give you the best of memories. Wonderful stay! Our first time visit to Bergamo. Stayed at room number 9 (loft style with the bed upstair) for 2 nights and it was simply the best hotel we stayed at in the whole trip in Europe! View: 5 stars! Top of the hill above the old town. Right next to the funicular station. Beautiful view of both the old city and the new part of town. Good hiking path if you’re into jogging Room: 4.5 stars! It’s quiet and clean with wonderful view. Just need to add some hanging racks for towels inside the bathroom Service: 5 stars! Very nice team and helpful! Breakfast: 5+ stars with such beautiful view and tasty fresh stuff! Restaurant: we normally avoid eating inside hotel restaurants but it’s surprisingly good! We had dinner on the second night, it was fully booked. And the food is tasty and high quality! Room number 9 is the only room with a loft style if you are happy to climb the inside steps but totally worth it with the small balcony and the stunning view!

I would only speak about the restaurant : very expensive, was not tasty at all, no creativity nor traditionnal way of cooking, and very poor portions. We were 3. We took the vegetable terrine which had no taste. We took the local ravioli (spécialité from Bergame) and got 5 poor little ravioli/pers. Our son took a little piece of angus meat. We asked for 2 glassed of local wine: instead of bringing us the wine liste, they automatically serve us a local insipid red wine. Posh restaurant.
